Creat.ives Call to Strengthen Railroad Square
Tallahassee’s creat.ive heartbeat lies in spaces like 621 Art Gallery and Railroad Square Art Park—places that have sparked innovation, nurtured talent, and inspired countless stories. On December 5th, Scene United Network (SUN), led by Cyrus Tookes IV and Beena, took the first step toward revitalizing these cultural cornerstones by hosting an open forum.
This event, which brought together business owners, educators, and community members, laid the groundwork for something bigger: a united effort to strengthen the spaces that define our city’s artistic identity.
But this is just the beginning, and we need you to take the next step with us.
Why?
These spaces are more than venues; they are the beating heart of Tallahassee’s creative and entrepreneurial scene. They’ve launched careers, hosted unforgettable experiences, and inspired generations to dream bigger. Yet, as we look to the future, it’s clear they need our collective support to remain strong.
SUN’s mission—to strengthen creative, innovative, and financial opportunities in the Tallahassee arts and music scene—perfectly aligns with this goal.
As Cyrus shared: “621 and Railroad Square is the central place for creativity in Tallahassee. We need these spaces strong to further inspire the next generation of creatives.”
December 5th: A Stepping Stone
The event on December 5th was a promising start. Held in the welcoming environment of 621 Art Gallery, attendees shared ideas and strategies for revitalization. The room was filled with passion, diversity, and a willingness to help. As one attendee put it:
“The diversity in the room was what made things enjoyable! So many ideas and people willing to help.”
Yet, with only 20 attendees, it was clear there’s room for more voices—and that’s where the community comes in.
A Call for the Community
This is a pivotal moment for Tallahassee’s creative community. The foundation has been set, but the next steps require all of us to show up, share our ideas, and take action.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Join the Movement – Attend the next meeting or event focused on revitalizing 621 and Railroad Square. Your voice, perspective, and ideas are needed to shape the future.
Spread the Word – Share the importance of these spaces with your networks. The more people who know, the stronger our collective impact will be.
Contribute Your Skills – Whether you’re an artist, entrepreneur, or community member with a passion for collaboration, your talents can help move this effort forward.
Let’s Build Together
The December 5th event was a stepping stone—a crucial first step toward the larger goal of ensuring 621 and Railroad Square remain vibrant centers for creativity. Now, it’s up to all of us to build on that momentum.
Our brand believes in the power of collaboration and community. We’re calling on you to join us in this effort to keep Tallahassee’s creative heartbeat strong. Together, we can ensure these spaces continue to inspire, empower, and connect generations to come.
