Strike Out Bullying: A Night of Community, Competition, and Charity

Gathered under the vibrant neon lights of the FSU Bowling & Billiards venue, families, community partners, and various agencies came together for a memorable evening curated by the DJ Demp Foundation. With a mission rooted in unity and inclusion, the foundation orchestrated an event that blended fun and philanthropy, uniting attendees in the fight against bullying.

DJ DEMP celebrating with attendees

“As a foundation, we wanted to put together something fun and exciting where families, community partners, and various agencies could come together and enjoy themselves for a great cause,” said DJ DEMP, CEO of the DJ Demp Foundation.

The atmosphere was electric as attendees laced up their bowling shoes and prepared to hit the lanes. The Tallahassee Fire Department and Police Department brought their A-game, engaging in a friendly yet spirited competition that had everyone on the edge of their seats. Mr. Branden Colaire of the TFD team proved to be a force to be reckoned with, claiming the title of Top Bowler with an impressive score of over 250 points in a single game. Meanwhile, AJ Rainey showcased his billiards prowess, dominating the pool tables and earning the title of Top Billiard Pool Shark.

With the event selling out weeks in advance, it was clear that the community had rallied behind the cause. Notable attendees and lane sponsors included the City of Tallahassee Fire Department, City of Tallahassee Police Department, Akbar Thomas Law Firm, Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, Kalivia’s Angelic Hands, Big Bend Cares, House of Vibes, Winner Circle, New Era HotBoys, and several other esteemed individuals and organizations.

The mission behind organizing the bowling event was simple yet powerful: to foster community engagement, build relationships, and raise awareness about the issue of bullying. By bringing together law enforcement, fire fighters, and various organizations in a relaxed and social setting, the DJ Demp Foundation aimed to showcase the commonalities that unite us all while promoting unity and inclusion.

The evening was filled with unique activities and features, including cosmic bowling complete with neon lights and a vibrant music playlist that set the perfect backdrop for the festivities. The theme of “strike out bullying” permeated the event, reinforcing the importance of standing together against bullying in all its forms.

Beyond the fun and games, the bowling event also served as a platform to raise funds for the DJ Demp Foundation’s upcoming back-to-school supply giveaway. With the support of the community, the foundation will be providing 1000 backpacks and supplies to students in need, ensuring that they have everything they need to start the school year strong and focused.

As the last pins fell and the night came to a close, it was clear that the bowling event had achieved its goals of fostering community engagement, building relationships, and raising awareness for the DJ Demp Foundation’s cause. With hearts full and spirits lifted, attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community.

Unleashing Creat.ivity and Business Potential at the “Boost Your Business Seminar”

Hey there, creat.ive minds! If you missed out on the recent “Boost Your Business Seminar” hosted by Cumulus Media, don’t worry—I’ve got the inside scoop for you! 🚀

Teylor Parks, the force behind the local wellness haven “Breathe In Color” and a local artist, represented Cumulus Media well as she took the stage to share her wisdom on growing brands and businesses. Not only did she sprinkle the crowd with inspiration, but she also unveiled a treasure trove of tips and resources for local business to access.

Many attendees were relieved to discover that the event wasn’t just a solo act. The Capital City Chamber of
Commerce (CCCC) made a dynamic entrance with President Katrina Tuggerson and her team, teasing us with exciting future projects. Rumor has it, the “Creat.ors” are gearing up to collaborate with CCCC and Cumulus Media on some hot summer initiatives at “The Creat.ors Summit.”

But let’s dive into the real nuggets of wisdom shared. Who knew Cumulus Media offered more than just radio ads? We didn’t! As we discovered the plethora of services Cumulus offers, we noticed that many attendees shared our surprise and I quote, “I didn’t know Cumulus did websites too,” a statement frequently made amongst attendees.

Here’s a rapid-fire roundup of the essentials:

1. Googlebility is Key:
Claim your Google Business Profile (GBP) because, let’s face it, 60% of people decide to work with a business based on it. Your Googlebility is your business’s first impression—make it count!

2. Reviews Rule the Roost:
With 97% of people checking reviews before jumping into business, it’s time to up your review game. Increase and respond to reviews, both negative and positive. After all, they’re the heartbeats of your brand.

3. Content is King:
Only 9% of business owners feel like they have a solid content strategy. Don’t be part of that statistic! Regularly post content that speaks to your audience. Remember, engagement is the name of the game.

4. Mobile Matters:
Optimize your website for mobile consumption because, let’s face it, we’re all glued to our phones. Your website experience should be like a great movie—captivating, smooth, and leaving your audience wanting more.

5. Cumulus Boost – Unleashing Power:
Cumulus Media dropped a bombshell—Cumulus Boost! It’s not just a program; it’s a promise to boost your productivity, website, reputation, find-ability, and lead generation. Local SEO and the Engagement Dashboard are the secret weapons in this arsenal.

So, dear creat.ives, buckle up for an exciting journey ahead! Partner up, claim your Google turf, embrace the power of reviews, master the art of content, go mobile, and let Cumulus Boost your business to new heights.
